Discovery Of a Fire
- Operate the nearest fire alarm
- Contact the nearest member of staff
Fire Alarm
The fire alarm will sound as a continuous tone. On hearing this collect belongings from where you are and:
EVACUATE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY
- Proceed directly to the assembly area (Front car park).
- The lifts must not be used during an evacuation.
- Students must stay with their class groups well away from the road or footpath.
- Lecturers in charge of students must complete a head count of their students and report to the accommodation officer or duty head who will be wearing a fluorescent waistcoat.
RE-ENTRY BACK INTO THE BUILDING WILL BE AUTHORISED BY THE SENIOR FIRE OFFICIAL OR THE COLLEGE DUTY HEAD.
