Library Registration

All students enrolled on a current Dudley College course are now automatically registered with the Library. Please ensure you have your student ID card with you as you will need this to borrow books etc.

Students are able to borrow a maximum of 8 books at any time. Most books are issued for 4 weeks, however, some more popular books may be restricted to 1 week.

It is also possible to borrow 2 audio-visual items (DVDs and CDs) and 2 magazines at the same time.

Books and other materials may be reserved free of charge. All requested items that are not in stock will be considered for purchase.

Photocopying

There are photocopiers at all 3 libraries that are able to provide A4 and A3 copies.

The charges are 5p per sheet for A4 and 10p for A3.

Stationery

A selection of stationery is available for purchase at all libraries including pens, pencils, paper, poly-pockets and USBs of various sizes.

We also sell postage stamps.

Overdue and Lost/Damaged Books

We notify students when their books are due for return by e-mail, however, if items become overdue we charge fines at the rate of 10p per item per day. Fines will continue to accrue until items are returned or renewed. We send out an overdue notice by post 2 weeks after the due date.

Students wishing to renew their books etc. can do so by personal visit, telephone or online. There is an answer phone service outside library opening hours and a book returns box outside each library.

Students will be expected to pay the replacement cost of any lost or damaged books.

All outstanding items must be returned at the end of each academic year and any outstanding charges paid, otherwise it will not be possible to register at the start of the next academic year.
