Dudley College Libraries

Broadway, Mons Hill and Castle View campuses each have a library containing books and other material appropriate to the subjects taught on the campuses. With seating provided for over 200, the libraries hold a combined total of over 55,000 volumes, most of which may be borrowed. The books are arranged on the library shelves in Dewey Decimal subject order, as in most public libraries.

Books may be renewed if not required by other users. It is possible to renew by telephone, personal visit or online. There is an answer phone service outside of opening hours and a book box outside each library in which books can be returned when the library is closed.

All the books in the three campus libraries are listed on the online catalogue. You can use any computer in the college to consult the catalogue and this facility is also available on the Internet for you to use at home. You may also use the catalogue to check which books you have on loan and renew them if necessary.

Computers are available in the libraries for students to use for research and completing assignments. These can be used on a drop-in basis or booked in advance from home using Netloan. Printers are provided, however students must either provide their own paper or purchase it from the desk. We also offer a colour-printing service.

Children of all ages are welcome in the libraries with their parents/carers but must be supervised at all times.

If you require assistance in using any of the services please feel free to talk to the library staff, who are here to support you and help you to find the information required to complete your studies.
