Important Notice to all Potential HE entrants for 2010/11

Student Finance England Application Details

  • 23rd April 2010 - Applications not based on household income (non means-tested)
  • 26th June 2010 - Applications based on household income (means-tested)

Students should apply NOW at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance so that Student Finance England can process applications in plenty of time for the start of university.

Students can check on the progress of their fully completed application using the online account management facility. Once a student has applied online, they can log into their online account, by accessing the student finance homepage on Direct.Gov:

www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance

Then click on the login icon in the right hand margin using their customer reference number, password and secret answer. Their account home page should show the status of their application.

Rock Appreciation Society (RAS) - Tuesdays 1.15-2.15pm (The Base)

If you love rock music then this is the society for you! Challenge other members on Guitar Hero World Tour; listen to, play and discuss rock music, organise trips to gigs etc

Film Club - Wednesdays 4pm onwards (The Base)

Watch great films for free, sponsored by Film Four, Love Film.

'Wii R FIT' - Mondays 11.30 - 12.30 (The Base)

Want to get fit but hate the gym? Join our new gamers fitness club. We have Wii sports, Wii fit and Wii dance games to help you burn off those xmas mince pies!

Our therapists are fully qualified BSc(Hons) Sports Therapists and treatments start from only £5.00 (please ask for more details).

Fitness Academy

Fitness Academy

The Health & Fitness Suite is divided into an aerobic studio and gym. The gym is equipped with a range of cardiovascular and resistance machines, a free weights section and other equipment to enable you to gain a full body workout.

There is also a qualified Fitness Instructor on site, to provide advice on personal exercise prescription and up to date training methods to enable you to meet your training goals. A gym instructor is also available to discuss the other services offered inlcuding: fitness classes, personal training and fitness testing packages.

Student Identity Cards & Lanyards

Student identity cards can be obtained from student services between 9.00am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, on production of an enrolment receipt.

Replacement identity cards will only be issued after payment of a £5 fee, payable at finance. The receipt issued should then be taken to student services at the times stated above.

EMA Payments and Religious Festivals

For the purpose of EMA claims students may have up to a maximum of 2 authorised days absence per year, provided that a written request for absence is made by the student's parent or guardian. These 2 days may be consecutive or on 2 separate occasions.

Dudley Inspire

Dudley Inspire is a partnership between the public, academic and health libraries in the Dudley area.

Anyone, student or member of the public, can use it to gain access to information from one of the participating libraries.

The participating libraries are: Dudley Public Libraries, Dudley College Library, Stourbridge College Library, Halesowen College Library, Dudley PCT (Primary Care Trust) Library and Dudley PCT Tariq Saraf Library (mental health and psychiatry).

Access is by referral from one of the participating libraries, with a form to complete.
